The weather has been lovely lately, albeit cold, but we've been busy and haven't taken proper advantage of the sunny days (though during the week I try to take a walk every day, even if it's just a longer route to Isolde's preschool). Today we didn't waste* any time and was out of the door by 10:30 (okay, not super early but good for us, both before an after kids...) and not home until five hours later. We brought thermos coffee along and some snacks for Isolde and took the car far out on Djurgården and took a long walk with a couple of stops along the way. First stop was coffee (and we were lucky to pass by a girl who had put up a stand and sold drinks and cakes - great initiative!). Later on with both kids asleep (well, Harald slept throughout except for a feed and nappy change) we had a light lunch outside at Djurgårdsbrunn's deck (although their range of lunch items left some to ask for...) and enjoyed the sunshine. Before walking back to the car we bought some hot dogs, mainly for the benefit of Isolde who hadn't had lunch (and Peter had eaten her yoghurt earlier...). She only wanted to eat the bread and was happily munching as we walked back to the car, when a dog came and snatched the bread out of her hand. Quite comical. That said, dogs are really supposed to be on a lead there but the owner was friendly and apologised, and even though Isolde got a little bit scared she was fine. And she could finish our bread.
Tonight Peter is out with friends and I'm alone with the kids (he's away next Saturday too but the weekend after that it's my turn!). I'm quite proud of myself, having managed to put both to sleep, eat dinner and make a cake for some guests tomorrow. Now I think it's time for bed (before Harald wakes for his next feeding - he's eating every other hour at the moment, growth spurt?!).
* Peter also has a theory that there's a limited number of sun hours every year and since March was so sunny the summer will be bad...?!
